Esther's story begins long before she became queen. Born as Hadassah, a young Jewish orphan living in exile, she was swept into the Persian palace and given a new name—Esther. The empire attempted to redefine her identity, encouraging her to hide her heritage and blend into a culture that neither knew nor honoured God. Yet while her name changed, her identity did not.
