DR OLUSEGUN AKINYEMI
Dr Olusegun Abiola Alex Akinyemi was a devout Christian who was born and raised with Christian values. He loved and served the Lord as best as God enabled him to. He was a well-loved quiz master in the youth church of New Wine Church for many years.
Dr Akinyemi was also the chair of the Think Tank Committee of New Wine Church till the end. In this capacity, he provided exceptional support to the Church leadership through strategic advice, innovative projects and spiritual encouragement.
In his professional life, Dr Akinyemi served as the Head of Department for Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Management in the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, a position he occupied for many years. Being an expert in his field, he was invited as a Consultant to lead on many Fisheries projects and researches on behalf of the Nigerian government and a few private companies including some West African projects for the World Health Organisation.
Dr Akinyemi enjoyed providing career and general advice to people, in particular youths, to help find a pathway in their career. He had a truly kind, compassionate and generous heart which gave him the drive to impact many lives both abroad and in the UK. He loved lending a helping hand to the underprivileged, he sponsored a few students to university level education. He left a legacy strong in education and successful career building.
Dr Olusegun Akinyemi was happily married to Mrs Olutoyin Akinyemi for 45 years. Their marriage was blessed with three children Busayo, Yomi and Yanmife; and many grandchildren.
Dr Akinyemi raised his children with Christian values which is a legacy that will remain with them for life. His exceptional love and care for his family and people in general will never be forgotten.
His strong belief in a brighter tomorrow will live on in the lives of all those his life impacted.
