YOUNG VOICES JUDGE - LAWRENCE JOHNSON
Lawrence Johnson is an award-winning vocal arranger, producer and creative director and one of the co-founders of the renowned London Community Gospel Choir (LCGC). He also founded the R&B / Gospel group, Nu Colours, which was signed to Universal Records and became the first MOBO award winner for “Best Gospel Act”.
Lawrence is the Creative Director of the award-winning Sounds of New Wine. He has worked on various TV shows as vocal coach or producer including Fame Academy and X-Factor. He has also worked with an impressive roster of artistes and household names both on a national and international scale including Stormzy, Little Mix, Taylor Swift, Tina Turner, Israel Houghton, Lakewood Choir, Martin Smith, Burna Boy, Leona Lewis and Simon Cowell (X-Factor), Donnie McClurkin, Sam Smith, Sinach and Stevie Wonder.
He’s provided vocal arrangements for film soundtracks including Four Weddings and a Funeral, Cats: The Movie, Aladdin and Dear Evan Hansen.
Lawrence is the recipient of several awards including his most recent induction as honorary fellow by RSL Awards.
